JOB TITLE: VP, Business Development
This is a sales position, and reports to Madison’s Senior VP of Sales. Responsible for originating equipment finance transactions. The individual must be a results driven self-starter, capable of working independently to continuously identify equipment finance prospects and maintain a sustained cold-calling strategy. The Originator must understand and incorporate Madison Capital’s target market criteria (credit profile, pricing, and structuring) in their originations strategy. The VP, Business Development must have a strong understanding of the sales process, excel at generating leads, building relationships, and closing transactions. The ideal candidate will have proven sales experience, working knowledge of MS Office, CRM (Salesforce), excellent communication and negotiation skills, and familiarity with analyzing financial statements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Sales Origination
Meet monthly and annual sales quotas through the successful implementation of sales strategies and tactics
Generate leads and build relationships – planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing and potential customer prospects
Reach out to customer prospects through a sustained cold calling strategy
Maintain all activities and creates reports in Salesforce
Travel to key accounts and attend trade shows as needed
Communicate and coordinate with Madison Capital team members (Sales, Credit, Operations) on all pipeline prospects
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
5+ years sales experience in the equipment finance industry. Must have existing book of business.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Proficiency with Salesforce CRM software and prospecting databases
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Initiative and ability to work independently
