OWINGS MILLS, MD, April 17, 2018– Travis Teal has joined Madison Capital, a commercial equipment and vehicle financing company, as Vice President and National Sales Manager to lead the sales team and foster a business culture consistent with the company’s successful 40-year track record and its future growth plans.
The appointment was announced this week by Madison President Nancy Pistorio, who said Teal is a great addition to the leadership team because of his considerable experience in banking and sales management as well as his proven leadership success in previous positions.
He most recently served as Vice President and Business Banking Sales Manager at Bay Bank, FSB, and before that he held leadership positions at SunTrust Bank in the Baltimore, Md. area where Madison has its headquarters.
In his new role, Teal will provide coaching and training to Madison’s sales team, which serves customers representing companies of all sizes and in many industry and business sectors nationwide ranging from construction, medical and transportation to retail, landscaping and amusement businesses.
Teal also plans to get involved in the equipment leasing and finance industry in programs and groups designed to introduce equipment financing careers to the next generation.
He said his previous experience at Bay Bank was pivotal in his own career because it gave him the opportunity to help branch managers expand their roles in sales and commercial loan programs.
His banking experience also includes participation in bond financing programs for small businesses, merchant services and credit card programs, managing the related service vendors and training internally.
While at Bay Bank, Teal helped to shift sales focus from mid-size companies to small businesses, specifically for debt financing, requiring a rich understanding of business credit that is also critical in equipment financing decisions.
Teal likes coaching. He volunteers as a mentor for Junior Achievement in Columbia MD and serves on this regional non-profit’s advisory board of directors. Teal also is a member of the 2018 class of Leadership Howard County, an organization that fosters civic leadership.
He is married and has two children, ages 6 and 4 years old and resides Reisterstown, MD
